The Bible speaks often about God’s will, and it is something every believer should seek to follow.
One of the clearest verses about God’s will is found in the book of Romans.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
This verse shows us that God’s will is good, pleasing, and complete.
It also tells us that knowing His will requires a changed way of thinking.
We must not follow what the world does but look to God in everything.
What Is God’s Will?
God’s will is His desire and plan for the world and for each person.
It includes both His overall plan for creation and His personal plan for each life.
God is in control of everything, and His will cannot fail.
The Bible shows us that God’s will is always full of love and purpose.
Even when things seem hard, God is working for the good of those who love Him.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
God’s will is not hidden, but it is shown to us in His Word and through the Holy Spirit.
God’s Will in the Bible
Throughout the Bible, many people followed God’s will.
Noah built the ark even when it had never rained.
Abraham left his home to go to a place God would show him.
Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt, trusting God’s direction.
These stories show that God leads those who trust Him.
Even when the path is not clear, we are called to walk by faith.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
When we read the Bible, we can see how God has always been faithful to His people.
He never changes, and His will today is just as sure as it was then.
God’s Will for Our Daily Lives
God’s will is not only about big decisions.
He cares about how we live each day.
He wants us to love others, help those in need, and live with honesty.
He also wants us to pray, give thanks, and stay away from evil.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
This shows us that God’s will includes our attitude and actions.
When we obey Him in small things, He will help us with the bigger ones.
How to Know God’s Will
To know God’s will, we must first listen to Him.
This happens through reading the Bible and spending time in prayer.
God also speaks through wise people and through the peace He gives in our hearts.
When we ask Him for help, He will answer.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5)
God is not silent, He wants us to know what He wants for us.
We must be willing to wait and trust Him when the answer takes time.
Living in God’s Will
Living in God’s will means choosing what is right, even when it is hard.
It means saying no to sin and yes to what pleases Him.
This kind of life brings peace, even in hard times.
It also brings joy that nothing in the world can take away.
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)
When we stay close to God, He shapes our hearts to want what He wants.
This is how we live fully in His will.
